Data Collection Methods

Although new computer-based technologies can be intimidating, they are often transparent when implemented. New technologies also address the drawbacks to more traditional methods by controlling the survey and eliminating potential bias created with human interaction.

The telephone has become so common we now carry it on our belt. Interactive Voice Response is a technology that allows people to answer questionnaires by either pressing the keypad on the phone or by speaking their answer.

To complete a survey on the internet participants simply type their information into form fields or click on radio buttons or checkboxes. It is no different to the participant from submitting information on any other web page.
